Program 6:45pm - 9pm:
This month’s program will be the third in the series of seven Ryan Neil/Mirai programs that started in March and will end in November. Each month, Ryan will be teaching us what Mirai is doing at that time of the month and what we should be emulating as well.
Hospitality: 6pm – 9pm: Thank you to Patty Myrick and gang for tasty goodies & coffee at our meeting each month. All members can (and are ENCOURAGED TO) bring their favorite goodies to share.
BSOP Library 6pm – 6:45pm: Our librarian, Barbara Devitt, is ready to help you find the book you are looking for. The library is located at the back of the stage in the main meeting room and is closed at 6:45pm. Please check out return and books at the library desk located in the vendor area.
Formal Display 6pm – 9pm: Each month a formal bonsai display featuring some of the exquisitely refined trees owned by club members is provided opposite the check-in desk. This display shows the desired goal in bonsai, when trees are entered in a formal show or competition. The display includes accessories such as stands, accent plants and scrolls. The April displays are by Michael Hagedorn and John Jaramillo.
Help Desk (Question & Answer Table) 6pm - 6:45pm: Your bonsai questions answered. Feel free to bring a tree for which you need advice.
Show & Tell Tables 6:30pm - 9pm: If you have something special to share with the club please bring it for the Show & Tell table and fill out an information card.
Silent Auction 6pm - Break: This is a great way for members to bring in a tree or trees they want to sell. The silent auction allows you set a minimum bid. From each sale, you will receive 80% of the proceeds from the winning bid (20% to the club) and if the tree does not receive a bid or meet your minimum, you get it back. Of course you can always just donate your tree to the club for auction, which would be much appreciated! If you want to include a tree in the auction, please bring it to the meeting as close to 6pm as possible. Bidders, please note that after the close of the auction the cashier will not be ready to take your payment until the auction results have been tallied (30 minutes). Sellers will receive their proceeds within a few weeks.
Raffle 6pm - meeting end: Your 1st ticket is FREE when you pick up your name badge. Additional tickets are available for purchase at $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Tickets will be sold before the meeting and during the break. Check your numbers on the winner’s board at the end of the meeting before leaving. Your donations of trees, pots and other items are ALWAYS needed and appreciated!
Vendor Tables 6pm - 6:56pm & break: Vendor Tables are available to ALL members who would like to sell trees & products. Please email Lime Allen BY MONDAY 1/23 to schedule table(s). There is NO CHARGE for up to 2 tables.
