Bonsai Network Japan sells trees and supplies, offers speakers for seminars, interpreters, and Bonsai Tours in Japan. There is information about "Bonsai Village" (Bon-sai-cho, Omiya-city, Seitama Prefecture), near Tokyo. In 1923 an earthquake damaged bonsai nurseries and collections in and around Tokyo. Many growers and gardeners moved to this new area and Bonsai Village was established in 1925. This is now a center for studying bonsai, and draws people from all over the world.
